The Big Idea September 2008
The Big Idea has suffered due to some technical difficulties due to budgeting issues, but with our new decision to post it on the web and to strategically place color versions around the school we believe that the school will be exposed to the new type of news coverage that we have aimed to accomplish. October thus marks our launching date and step towards our second edition. We can only hope that this is an effort that will last and have a great impact on the school's community!
Bengt September 2008
Bengt has been full of great successes, and i can only hope that for the rest of the year we will be able to keep having the same fate. We started off the year with an attendance of 15 members, mostly all new, and some returning members. We have engaged heads on the fundraising activities for Studi Senza Frontiere through ticket sales to an art history seminar whose proceeds all go to SSF and a series of bake sale for the same purpose. Now, with some money under our name, Bengt will be able to fund greater events to collect higher revenue. A film festival in collaboration with the school's cultural center is yet to be held, but hopes of it coming through are still very high. Our next event will probably a session of tie dying bengt t-shirts open to the school community. It will be fun and for a great cause!
MUN SEPTEMBER 2008
MUN has been somewhat of a challenge this year, but a good one at that. There is such an interest from the student population, that coordinating the admissions process has been a little tedious. With the help from our supervisor, Mrs. Reeder, the students have signed up have all gotten a questionnaire that was made to screen through the applicants before the real interview. The questionnaires have now been reviewed and two groups have been made. There is no preference between the groups. It just means that there are still quite a few people and the interviews will be held in two sessions. Getting to this point was not easy. Mrs. Reeder and I have had to meet every G period on Fridays, our now official meeting date, to go over all the details and to review our strategy. Interviews are scheduled for the 3rd week of October and we can only expect the best!

2008-2009
The 2008-2009 school year has begun, and so have all my C.A.S activities. This year I am involved in MUN, BENGT, The Big Idea, the school's year book, the running group, and Down Syndrome Theater. This will be my 4th year doing MUN, only that now, I am one of the student leaders. I am also responsible for BENGT and plan to make this year's focus education throughout the world, by continuing our work with Estudi Senza Frontiere and with our new partners Building with Books. The Big Idea is a newspaper for social, international, and political issues. The creator, Claudio Sansone, came up to me, and together we elaborated the newspaper up to the point that it has reached now: ready, approved, and set for printing. I was approached by the yearbook committee as leader of multiple activities and asked to help collaborate their corresponding pages in the yearbook. I am extremely excited to document all our efforts this year. Down Syndrome Theater doesn't begin until October, but I can't wait to meet up with my friends.
